About China Multiple Entry Visa Application

The number of entries for Chinese visas is important as it indicates how many times the country can be entered during the validity period of the visa.

There are 3 types of Chinese visas that foreign nationals who want to travel to China can obtain in terms of the number of entries : single entry, double entry and multiple entry. The Chinese multiple entry visa allows you to travel to China as many times as you want, without any number of limits, for the duration of the visa.

This article provides information about China multiple visa and application procedures.

How Long Is a Multiple Entry Chinese Visa Granted?

Multiple entry Chinese visas can be issued for short-term periods of 3 months and 6 months or for long-term periods of 1 year, 2 years, 5 years and 10 years.

5 Year Multiple Entry Chinese Visa

For a 5-year multiple entry Chinese visa, foreigners of Chinese origin living abroad can apply for Q1/Q2 visas through Chinese foreign missions or they can also apply for a 5-year residence permit after entering China. British and American citizens can only apply for a 5-year multiple entry visa under certain conditions.

10 Year China Multiple Entry Visa

The 10-year multiple entry Chinese visa is currently only issued to US, UK, Canadian and Argentine passport holders for the tourist L visa, business M visa, family reunification Q2 visa and special visit S2 visa types.

Each country has specific requirements for applying for a 10-year multiple entry visa; for example, an American citizen needs a valid passport with more than 1 year validity, a British citizen must have previously held a 2-year or 5-year multiple entry Chinese visa, and Canadian citizens are granted visas that are not valid for longer than their passport period.
