With the declaration of Ankara as the capital in 1923, the German Embassy in Istanbul continues its duty as a Consulate General. There are 14 provinces within the jurisdiction of the German Consulate in Istanbul. The German Consulate General in Istanbul is the decision-making authority for visa applications from these provinces, including Istanbul. As of September 2020, Johannes Regenbrecht is serving as the Consul General.

Visa Application Procedures
The Consulate General of Germany in Istanbul does not accept individual visa applications. Visa applications are made through intermediary institutions or accredited agencies. After filling out the application form appropriate for the purpose of travel, an appointment must be made and the necessary documents must be declared.
If the application form is filled out incorrectly, the visa application will be deemed invalid. In addition, problems such as not being able to make an appointment for a close date may occur.
Our TURSAB registered agency, which is accredited with the intermediary institution iDATA for Germany visas, carries out visa applications in accordance with the application criteria determined by the Federal Republic of Germany.
Visa Appointment and Tracking System
In applications made by our agency, the current documents requested by the Consulate are prepared completely on behalf of the applicant and the first appointment date is assigned. The entire process is carried out completely and quickly with the experienced team.
After the necessary documents are prepared by our Istanbul head office, they are forwarded to our field team. A consultant assigned from our field team carries out all application and document delivery procedures on behalf of the applicant.
Note: If the applicant has a Schengen visa obtained within the last 5 years, all procedures are completed by our field team without the applicant coming to the appointment and the approved visa is shipped to the address. If there is no previously obtained Schengen visa, a consultant from our field team will meet the applicant on the appointment date and accompany them for fingerprinting and declaration of the necessary documents.
Visa Inquiry Process
Visa application inquiries cannot be made through the official website of the German Consulate . For individual applications made through our agency, visa follow-up is carried out by our operations team and all updates are sent as a 5-stage information SMS.
- After the passport is delivered to our address. (by hand or by cargo)
- After the application form is filled out by our relevant consultant,
- After the necessary documents are prepared and an appointment date is made,
- After visa application is approved
- After it is shipped back to the address (if it will not be collected by hand)
