Requirements and Visa Application Procedures for Traveling to Brazil
Brazil, the largest country in South America, is officially the Federative Republic of Brazil and is also the most populous country in the country. According to Brazilian visa policy, all foreign visitors entering the country, except for citizens of foreign countries who are exempt from visas, must obtain a visa from diplomatic missions.
Within the scope of the visa exemption agreement signed between Türkiye and Brazil, all Turkish passport types are exempt from visa for travel to Brazil for a maximum of 90 days.
For trips to Brazil for purposes such as touristic trips, holidays, business trips and personal visits, Turkish citizens can enter the country without a visa by declaring certain documents.Documents Required for Entry to Brazil
Turkish citizens are required to declare the following documents upon entry to Brazil.
- Turkish passport valid for at least 6 months
- Brazil travel plan petition
- Book your return flight ticket
- Petition received from the tour operator
- Confirmed accommodation reservation
Please Note; In addition to the above, Brazilian Border Police may request that foreign visitors be admitted to the country with financial resources such as bank account statements, credit card statements, cash, etc., and a valid travel health insurance policy in Brazil. It is recommended that you prepare the relevant documents before your trip.
Brazil Visa Application

Citizens of countries that do not have a visa exemption agreement with the Federative Republic of Brazil, such as Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq and Syria, must obtain a visa before traveling to Brazil. Foreign citizens residing in Türkiye and subject to a visa according to the Brazilian visa regime can apply from Türkiye and obtain a 3-month tourist visa.
In addition, Turkish citizens who wish to stay in Brazil for more than 90 days for purposes such as work, education and family reunification must apply for a long-term visa through the Brazilian Consulate.
To apply for a Brazilian visa, you must first apply online from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, then complete the application by paying the consulate fee and submitting the documents. The competent authorities for visa procedures in Türkiye are the Brazilian Embassy in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul.
Documents Required for Brazilian Visa
The documents required for a Brazilian short-term visitor visa are listed below.
- Electronic visa application form approval printout
- Original and photocopy of passport valid for at least 6 months
- TR residence permit
- Visa application form (in English, Spanish or Portuguese)
- Documents showing your working or student status in Türkiye
- Last 3 months bank statement or pay slip
- Current biometric photo
- Book accommodation
- Round-trip transportation reservations
- Notarized consent form for those under 18 years of age
- Visa fee payment receipt
The above listed documents are the standard documents requested for short-term Brazilian visitor visas (tourist). Additional documents must be submitted for long-term visa applications of Turkish citizens.
Brazil Visa Fee
The application fee for a Brazilian visitor visa in 2024 is 80 USD. All visa fees must be deposited into the bank account of the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate General. Cash or credit card payments are not accepted at Brazilian Consulates.
