Venezuela Visa Application and Entry Procedure

Venezuela Visa Application and Entry Procedure

Venezuela, officially the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is a country located in the northern part of South America, on the Caribbean Sea coast. All foreign visitors to Venezuela, except citizens of visa-exempt countries, are required to obtain a visa from one of the country’s diplomatic missions.

Venezuela is one of the Latin American countries where citizens of the Republic of Turkey can travel without a visa. All ordinary or official Turkish passport holders traveling to Venezuela are exempt from visa procedures for 90 days. Venezuela visa exemption is valid for short-term visits for vacation, touristic trip, business trip, family or friend visits.

Documents Required for Entry to Venezuela

The documents that Turkish citizens must present at the border gates of the Republic of Venezuela are given below.

  • Turkish passport with at least 6 months validity
  • Invitation with hotel reservation or home address
  • Proof of financial resources (bank statement, cash, etc.)
  • Flight reservation for return journey

Please Note: Foreign visitors traveling to Venezuela must prove they have sufficient financial resources upon entry to the country. Venezuelan Border Protection officers require individuals to show financial resources of at least $1,500 USD.

In addition to the documents provided above, it is also recommended to have a valid international travel health insurance and an international yellow fever vaccination certificate during your trip to Venezuela.

Venezuela Visa Application Procedures

Venezuela does not have visa exemption agreements with most Asian, African, and North American countries. Therefore, citizens of countries subject to Venezuelan visa requirements, such as the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia, must obtain a visa from a Venezuelan foreign mission prior to travel.

Foreign nationals working or studying in Türkiye can apply for a visa at the Venezuelan Ankara Embassy with their valid Turkish Republic residence cards. The Venezuelan Consulate accepts visa applications in person or through accredited agencies and finalizes them within an average of 2 weeks.
